Funny Store Names

There is a Country Club here called Gobbler’s Knob, and it used to have a very exclusive restaurant with the same name. Everytime someone would say the name I would crack up, but everyone just seems to think there’s nothing wrong with name.

There is also a family here that has been in the furniture business for eons, called Badcock. When they made radio ads, they always seemed to enunciate Bad-Cock. Cracked me up.

I drove by a goodwill the other day and some of the letters were burnt out, it said Go___ill, thought that was kinda of funny seeing the times we’re all in. Also, when Chevy released the nova and tried to sell it in Mexico not realizing that it translated to “not going” is pretty funny

I too remember a de'ath funeral directors but cant place where in Suffolk it was,Ipswich or Hadleigh I think

I had a visit today from a friend who lived in Hadleigh Suffolk but now lives in Greece ,as I do
He confirmed De"Ath funeral directors were in Bildeston Suffolk on the corner where you turned to go to Wattisham Airbase.
I am not sure what made me remember this thread

Aha, well since I lived at Lavenham at some point, that is likely when I saw it on one of my days out on the trusty old Kawasaki I had at the time, Bildeston being only about 2 miles from Lavenham.

I remember years later telling some folk of the name of the funeral director and they were having none of it, they reckoned I'd been on the sauce
