I have to say that when I smoke my Country Gent, I've had nothing but great smoking. I like that it has a large bowl so I can sit down and listen to a podcast while I smoke. I have a few estate briars I've acquired through Ebay, that just smoke ok, but I attribute that to the deal I got on them. I'm going to buy another Country Gent, and Diplomat and get forever stems for each in the near future.
While I'm at it, the MM Hardwood Maple I purchased is a pretty good smoker too.

Great article. I did a big post on this not long ago. I just tried my first MM cob a few weeks ago, and I have been in love ever since. My briars don't see alot of use right now, I am smoking the cob three or four times a day, and only picking up the briars in the evenings. I love the cob so much I ordered another just like it, with a bent stem this time. I think every payday I will be adding another for a while now. I was hesitant for two years, thinking mainly about the "cob look" and quality at the price point. Those fears are gone. Damn thing smokes better than half of my briars, and seems just as tough.

My Missouri Meerschaum Legend, with a 6mm Savinelli balsa filter, is fast becoming a top favorite in my rotation. In fact, I just ordered another.

Cobs rock. I prefer them a bit on the new side when you can still taste a bit of corn. That goes so well with codger burley.
