By 2025 she wants to have no tobacco in NZ and it will be made illegal to buy any.
Im sure you can grow your own still because that law hasnt changed but selling and buying is gonna
be illegal. She also wants to have no crashes/deaths on the road by 2025 so she has lowered the speed
limit in alot of places that dont need it, 80kh zones going down to 50kh and so on.

You know it doesn't matter if it's her or the other guy.. They're all working at the same goal. I'm praying for you, as I'm praying for us.
And this frightens the crap outta me!

Ok, that is just not correct.

Also there are so many grey areas/loopholes in our country’s tobacco related legislation that if one is passionate enough about pipe smoking they don’t have to break the lawto acquire leaf.

Also, guys, every fucking time a thread about pipe smoking and NZ comes up we instantly get into comments about Jacinda, covid lockdowns and a bunch of other unhelpful, albeit loosely related, themes.

it’s hard enough to be a smoker here, and I come to this forum to escape some of that, not have it rubbed in my face.

maybe it’s early and maybe I’m a tad too bitchy, for that I apologise. But blends are changing, taxes are rising, restrictions are getting tighter EVERYWHERE. Stock up on what you can, and grow and cure tobacco.

puffy

edit: in an attempt to add something constructive, for anyone else looking this up, cigars are not illegal to import to NZ and do not require a permit

ok ok i agree you CAN smoke if you want but it does cost more for us by quite a large amount.
Im a bit surprised so many people know about NZ's wrong doings since we are such a small country.

Title edited for caps. Generally it's better to find the similar thread and post there.

Hi there i made another post but i think it might be in the wrong place, anyway i was wondering if anyone from New Zealand had any tips on how they get pipe tobacco? i cant imagine people are actually paying $159 for 50g...if you have any tips on what site to use for importing or maybe even how i could use this site to get tobacco would be very welcome, i await your messages with excitement!
I just know my NZ friend was asking the visitor to buy the hand roll tobacco from Australia tax-free shop to NZ. His job was driver & tour guide.
But Now...

You can still do this. The duty free limit is 50g per person, and then you are charged about $90nz per each 50g following that. I get friends or family to bring back 100g or and just pay the extra duty. It’s cheaper than buying here, and in a decade when I get around to opening it I’m not going to be complaining about the price I paid at all

First let me offer you my condolences. Something similar was tried here (USA) called prohibition and it failed miserably. I wish you good luck with this political issue...
