Pembroke is very close but not super easy to get hold of. Of course it's Cognac instead of whiskey but super enjoyable and really close IMO.
+2 for Country Squire's Sheppards Pie.

This +1Supposedly Shepherds Pie from the Country Squire is a good substitute, I will say its good, Ive never had FM so I cant make a comparison
That's more or less what I think/thought of FMC after I tried other Latakia blends. I think it was a starter english for many, myself included. My biggest beef with the blend was the smoke was thin and boozy, and I prefer my latakia blends with Orientals . I really have been enjoying it more lately than I had in years, though. Maybe it's the age of the tin or I appreciate the stoved VAs in it more than I used to. I'm sure the scarcity and knowing I'm smoking my final bowls of it also contributes.I liked McClelland Virginias. Frog Morton Series? Not so much. I always took it as a starter tobacco. It was mild, no bite and smoked easy. I thought there were many English blends that were better. But I also recognize there is individual tastes. I share many sentiments that McClelland is no more. It is what it is. There are countless other excellent blends out there. I think one would be well served by spending their money testing those other blends than paying a super premium for McClelland Blends.
I agree. SHF is a supremely underrated blend. Super creamy and zesty. I'm surprised it doesn't have a cult following yet. I've got 12 tins aging. I'll probably end up buying more in the future too. More tins for you and me then!I've never had frog Morton celler, but I do give two thumbs up for sunset harbor flake for creamy mouthfeel, and voluptuous plumes of smoke (yes I said that). It's a CD blend that I rarely see mentioned, though I can't grasp why.
