This is getting ridiculos, can you imagine,my most expencive pipe,The Rattrays Highland Canadian model nro 12 which

looks very handsome and had a $140 price tag on it.Despite of the price tag,is the one and foremost of my pipes which is getting very hot past middlebowl, no matter what tobacco and how do I smoke it.Yet its pretty new. This very pipe comes with no precarbonation, and as a fact the Rattarays have them made in France whether it is in Butz Choquin or Chacom production line. Couldn't find a way to add a picture of it here.Have a grat weekend and greets. Paul

The French always give in during the first half. It's kinda their thing so why shouldn't their pipes be unable to take the heat? Sorry, but the French thing begs to be mocked ;)

Yo Paulie, are you sure you're not packing it too tight? Seriously, just try a gravity fill for a change.
How often or fast do you puff? What other pipes are you comparing with?

Hi Paul, I too have noticed this with some pipes I have. No particular manufacturer and no particular pipe shape, some pipes do smoke hot and it's bloody annoying.
It is not that they are thin walled or the baccy too wet/dry and it's not my packing/smoking technique, it just a mystery.
If you ever find out why this happens only with certain pipes please let me know.
Regards,
Jay.

Dear Gentlemen,Thank you for your siuggestions and comments, I shall take this your words into considration and will keep experementing on with other tobaccoes and another packing technique, we shall see to what this develops into,Think this pipe needs pretty long brake in process, this never occured with my Petersons nor Stanwell pipes

and I have an another Rattrays(again France make) on the way from Smokingpipes.com,happily it was %50 off.Have a great weekend Y'all members, paul

Additionally I'm to experiment if this peculiar pipe' really needs to be packed less tightly, even if this trick wouldn't seem to help reducing the heat a bit down then nothing wíll.As for the pipe itself,it has a very nice appearence, clear ,pretty straight flamelike briar, the bowl is rather thin than thick walled, yet discernibly a quality high gloss varnished surface, which I assume, may have some hidden affect on this heat-rise problem.
