Oh good, I was looking for this thread last night to post my "take" on the cake. I thought that there was something about this that reminds me of Penzance. The wine-like fermented flavor maybe? Maybe it also has less of an incense-y oriental leaf flavor. But, if slipped into my rotation as Penzance, I probably wouldn't notice a difference.

Good stuff and only slightly more unicorn-y to find.

Thanks Nate, I enjoyed it.

Glad to hear you liked it as well! Having only just discovered it, ''tis tragic to think it won't be around for much longer. I'm thankful i purchased a few tins :(

I was out of the country, and just got back to find the sample waiting at my desk! I'll smoke it between tonight and the weekend. Thanks a lot, Nate!

Aaaaand it's delicious! I've finally smoked it, and it fully deserves its reputation! I'm completely sold, and this could easily become a daily smoke.
Damn it Nate, now I'll have to find a way to get more of this and other HU blends :(

Thanks Anthony!! That's. very seriously kind of you to say!!Again, Thank you.
@echie, yeah sucks don't it? It's near impossible to get now and it'll only get worse :( tragic!! I just love krumble kake and there are so few. Hans says making it is far more labor intensive to produce than the rest which is why he rarely makes it. Sucks because it's just so fine. I'm very curious to see how it ages.
Im happy to hear you guys liked it as well! If age changes/improves it, I'll do this again so we can compare.
I sent one of the samples to an address in China. ''Twas seriously expensive to do so. I can't remember who it was though so if you're here please let me know if it actually arrived.

Didn't get in line for this because I still have a jar full of samples from Forums members, mostly sampled but waiting for the next bowl, but tributes to Nate for his generosity. Samples from many different members has about doubled my experience with different blends, introducing me to blends I'll add to my buy-list, and given me a taste of a number that I may not buy but that were well worth trying. I'll never catch up with a tenth of what, say, jiminks has sampled, but I'm way ahead of where I'd otherwise be. Thanks all!

@Nate, it arrived a few day ago, at work, where I wasn't at the time, where I am now, so I got it. It smells yuuuummy! Can't wait to be home and try.

I suspect the customs dude sampled it a little, but hey.
I recently got 2 samples from the US, both arrived. One was sent at a $3 fare, arrived in 2 weeks, one, yours, at a $13 fare, and it took a month.

I don't think it's related, however, I realise now that the $23 for USPS First class International thing is really not necessary.

haha
Anyway, thanks Nate !!!

One thing we learned when I lived overseas (20 years ago), is that most shipments end up on the same few planes, unless you are playing for the expensive express delivery. So, much of the overseas shipping takes the same(ish) time regardless of ship type. Much of the delay is sitting in the post office, or at the airport, waiting for the next designated mail flight. You could ship right before the next flight, and your package arrives quickly; or you could just miss it, and your package languishes for an extra week or two.

We found that drop shipping was the best intersection of price/speed for us.

We learned this by having a few conversations with our post employees. Some were very helpful in understanding how the international shipping worked.
I'm not sure if this is still true or applicable now, though.
