I am aware that the pies made by Frederick Charatan are very rare, but do some collectors have them?
I tried to find pictures, but the only picture I found was on Pipedia.

Maybe some of you have pictures of this era Charatan pipes?
Any other additional interesting info would be appreciated as well.

Yes, they are super rare. This is my only one. It is in such good condition,015.JPG possibly because it was in a fitted case for years. The stamping is Charatans Make (no apostrophe after the n) then under this London. Eng. Lovely small pipe (Dunhill group 2 or 3)

Very impressive, Ken!
What shape is this?
I assume the Frederik Charatan Era pipes didn't had the CP logo yet?

No, no shape numbers in this era. I can imagine this being turned by hand on a treadle lathe and then using sharkskin as the abrasive rather than sandpaper!
Here is one which is later possibly 1910-1915 ( very early Reuben era). The stamping is Charatan's Make London - Eng. This logo is the only one I have ever seen and may well have been a proto-type.023.JPG

I wasnt meaning the shape numbers, but the actual shape of the pipe itself ;)
I might be missing something, but I am not sure to what pipe shape your pipe corresponds.

Regqrding the logo, interesting info.
In that case the information on pipedia Bout the logo is wrong I guess...

This is a handmade Cutty shape. In those days the shapes tended to keep to the previous era of clay pipes.
No, I have never seen a picture of Frederick Charatan

I’ve seen several photographs of Reuben but none, alas, of Frederick. The closest I’ve come are examples of his signature. Ditto Henri Comoy.
