Found the Right Bulk Soft Bite Tubing

This is 5/16 ID, 3/8 OD so 1/16" wall thickness. It is small enough to fit my small bits and stretchy enough for my larger bits. It shipped from amazon, but it took a few weeks to arrive. Cushions the bit without bulking it up and you can cut it to the length you like.

I have something similar to that too, but found it to be too thick and bulked up the bit too much for my liking.

Interesting. That's the issue i have with soft bits is the bulkiness. Also would be nice to find something that would fit the narrow diameter of a clay stem. Not a fan of teeth on clay!

I found a couple of pkgs of large silicone straws at a Marshall's or TJMaxx store and just cut them to fit.

Intriguing...putting this on my "to order" list right now! I have the same issue with the traditional softy bits providing too much bulk. I hope this will do away with that problem, yet still provide the cushioning I need.

Got the tubing yesterday. Sadly, it is too small to fit even my most narrow bits. Too bad, because it looks like it would totally do the job otherwise. Oh well, seven bucks down the tube (no pun intended).

Thanks for the tip on these...works great and a much superior alternative to the rubber bits than tape imo.

Thanks for that! I will try this one next. All my bits are just too wide to accommodate the other, no matter how hard I force it.
