Found Pipe

I was rummaging through my dad's desk and found this little thing. Nobody knows what it is or from when. It had a stinger too but I removed it.
I'm thinking of restoring it because I love how small but not tiny it is. Any advice on how to proceed? I was thinking on bleach/water for the stem and salt/alcohol for the bowl and after thin sanding everything.

Since the stem is so heavily oxidized I'd use the bleach also. It may leave the surface of the stem pitted but they will sand out easily enough. I like the shape of that pipe--love panels !

I'd try everything else before sanding! I'd clean the wood with Murphy's Oil Soap and see what you've got! Any nomenclature now visible?

Under all the wear, I think you have a snappy pipe there.
