I've seen a few other Danish makers that do a stem like this.. Bari comes to mind. Definitely a child of the 60's/70's I think :ROFLMAO: so "free".

it smokes wonderfully.. has a very wide open draw.

Well like an idiot I didn’t take before pics of this one. BBB Own Make Thorneycroft 638 Billiard. Had cracking lava overflow all over the rim and the stem was crazy oxidized with bite marks. Had an inner tube so the shank is pristine inside!

I think the Canadian was a good buy, but it takes an experienced eye to know. You have to know the materials, how much is left in them, and how much you can do yourself in terms of knowhow and time. That's why I'd steer new pipe smokers to moderately priced new pipes, so they can focus on technique. Restoration comes later if at all. But that Canadian now has a whole new lifespan.
