Hello all! I think it is necessary to note that I enjoy smoking a pipe, but do it fairly infrequently and not to any degree of expertise.

I recently visited a thrift and came across a basket of about 50+ pipes. Not knowing much, but quickly doing some research I realized that I had to buy the lot.

Some of the brands that i got:
Sasieni(multiple), Ben Wade(multiple), Butz-Choquin(multiple), GBD(multiple), Savinelli(two), Peterson’s(two) and about 26 other fairly nice brands that I don’t know much about.

My main question is, would there be someone to help me figure out what these are worth?

I am making an inventory with pics of all and will have a link to is soon!

If you're the same person who posted on Facebook, I'd say the whole lot is worth a few hundred dollars. It's an attractive, mid-range collection: ideal for enjoying, but not particularly valuable.

Some of the brands you mentioned might have some value depending on the specific pipe. Others, while good, don't usually appeal to collectors, and some barely surpass the level of a basket pipe.

For a better assessment, detailed photos would be necessary.

Regards.

I vaguely recall a scammer trying to do this a couple years ago, and sell them?

Assuming this is legit, that’s a great find, especially if the price was right.

Well you are in luck, everyone here believes they are an expert.
Can’t see the link you posted. All of them requesting access to view them.
“Although we are not experts, we can give an honest answer about how much we would pay for the pipes. It may not be a representative market value, but it is a good starting point.”

The Sasieni Four Dot, the Danish Ben Wade, the Larsen, the Caminetto, and the Dunhill are the highlights of the collection. GBD pipes may also be included, but I don’t have that information. The value will depend heavily on their condition and specific models. I recommend checking completed eBay auctions for pipes similar to yours.
