I have noticed it lately also. I saw a post a few days ago from Kevin regarding some Forum upgrades, etc so I just chalked it up to that...

Short answer: I'm aware of it and we're working on it.
Longer answer:
I've always said that I love irony, but I may have to change my mind on that.
Perhaps a week or so ago, the site was getting too slow for my patience and we made an upgrade to the caching system to speed it up.
Ironically, after noticing that it did speed up for a few days, or the last week, today has been painfully slow here and on Cigar Chronicles.
I don't know what happened, but it is a server issue as both sites are slow. Hopefully it will get worked out soon, as I don't like cursing at my own sites waiting for them to load.
The good news is that Pipes Magazine had over 10,000 unique visitors per day for the last three days straight. December was a new traffic record, and it looks like January may be another record.

Whenever it does that to me I clear my cache and close the window, then open a new one and re-load the page. Usually works.

The speed issue should be fixed now. For any techies that want to know, here is what the server tech said:
We've found problem with web module and updated it with last version, RAID configuration had wrong settings, also solved.
By the way, I've found some critical and none-critical updates for server and hardware that required server reboot.

Could you please approve this update and provide time frame for reboot.
We will re-boot at 3 am Eastern USA time as that is when the traffic is lightest.

Kevin...is the Mercedes quicker than the sites?
0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and a top run rate of 174 mph ... uh ... yeah, it is. (I've only gone up to 125 so far though.)

Not just slow, sometimes it tells me to check my internet connection because it was unable to connect.
I can only think this is because the website was taken down for some maint.
