Former is quite a nice carver and has created a number of exceptional pipes. I Don't know how good an investment they are though.

Hans "Former" Nielsen is a living Legend, and on a similar level as Sixten Ivarsson, Jess Chonowitch or Tom Eltang. His Status, Prestige and Craftsmanship cannot be undererstimated. Please also check out the pipedia article.

I know of an unsmoked Former Canadian floating around. Might be able to get it for a sub-market value.

Just to give you an idea: We sell unsmoked, smooth Formers beginning at 2400€.

This planter was formerly a pipe. It adds a nice warm touch to my workbench, and provides fresh herbs in the kitchen.


This former pipe is now a bedside lamp. Houseguests often remark about how creative I am, and I agree with them.




This former pipe is now a doorstop. It has become quite a conversation piece among my friends and family. They often remark about how lucky my wife is to have married such an innovative young man as myself. I am blessed with honest friends.

I'll be posting it here for sale this evening. Tell all your rich friends lolz. No idea on the time frame for when the pipe was made. It's stamped "Handmade" not "Freehand. I'd guess late 80s - mid 90s.
