Hey baccy enthusiasts. I just joined. I’m 37yo, I used to smoke cigarettes. Now I vape, smoke cigars on occasion and enjoy a bowl or two a day. My introduction to tobacco began too many years ago, snagging leafs from the fields growing around my house and drying them (but not rinsing them ??) Most people say that cigarettes taste terrible and anyone who says differently is lying. I disagree. Certain cigarettes taste delicious, but in my opinion NONE taste as good as a cool smoked pipe!! ? I smoked cigarettes from around 18 to 35, then I switched to OTC vapes. About a year ago my brother in law shared a cigar with me and It was so freakin’ delicious I decided to start a collection. As much as I enjoy cigars, I’m not always interested in committing to an hour long smoke. I do enjoy a Macanudo ascot a couple times a week, but cigars are either committed to or wasted and I CANT STAND wasting something so good. I recently began researching pipe tobacco and spent a few weeks learning. I purchased a few corn cob pipes and nerded out while waiting for them to arrive. I even practiced a breath method cadence while communicating to and from work. I also decided to start with well review OTC blends first. Long story short, sipping a pipe came so naturally to me, like I had smoked a pipe forever. I bit my tongue once in the first week on a windy day and have since been obsessed with pacing myself ? I’m here to learn and absorb. I hope you all will patiently answer my questions so that someday I can help others. A little about myself..

I’m a classically trained guitarist, but I prefer to bend steel strings and rock out.

I cook, smoke meats, make soap, and I’m a flawed Christian.

I’m obsessed with fragrances, I smoke too much and I can’t wait to learn from ya’ll!!

Cheers!

That's awesome. I love the typo. Communicating to work. Just paints a vivid and odd ball picture. I make tons of typos so no judgement.
Also interesting spelling of honest, f l a w e d. :)

Welcome aboard from central North Carolina. Yes, pipes are flexible in terms of the time commitment. You can do a charing light, then put the pipe down and smoke the rest the next day, or the day after that. Cigars can be relit, but it is bad form and probably does compromise the flavor. One quality tin of premium tobacco costs about as much as one premium cigar and gives about twenty smokes instead of one. The prices on cigars are insane. I like them as a sort of celebratory thing, birthdays and holidays. Or I just enjoy a pipe instead.
