Dholakia, an Indian brand that makes several highly rated tobacco and non-tobacco (herbal) snuffs, has ceased production. MrSnuff.com is running a closeout sale at 80% off. Now that I've ordered all I want, I figure it's time to inform everyone else...

I continue to be amazed that snuff is produced at all. Consider how niche pipes are, and how niche snuff is by comparison to that...

It's delightful stuff. I recommend newbies try a variety of classic styles, if for no other reason than to be able to check them off the list.

I have put american scotch snuffs on top of Prince Albert. It's pretty good that way. Bumps up the tobacco flavor.

That's interesting. When I see snuff sometimes it looks yummy like Cocoa powder.
But when I've asked people what it's like to put it on the tongue or smoke it, they say that it's a bad idea, that no one does these things. One person said that it burns if it's put on the tongue, but no one talked about smoking it.

In my neck of the woods snuff is mostly used in the mouth.

I'd rather snuff it, for a better rush. The american snuffs are pretty much intended for oral use, though.

OK. I don't really know my stuff about snuff.
But do you mean "dip" or snuss? Because in the US we do have snuff that's meant to be "snuffed" in the nose.
I never tried either.
My great grandfather's family had Chew with a spittoon.

We may have nasal snuff for sale here, but the snuffs produced in the U.S. are mostly for oral use. The finer stuff is ok for the nose, pretty harsh, but strong.

There is a snuff called Silver Dollar, I think that's an American nasal snuff. Maybe the only one, though.
