yaz, now that peck and I are no longer chasing JALF, it should be easier to grab. peck beat me out about 5 times in a row when it came around. lol A blend that is very similar to JALF is Wessex Brown Virginia Flake and it is available. I think if you try it you will really like it.

Aylesbury Luxury Flake is really the hidden gem I have been searching for since starting pipe smoking. It is well worth pursuing even when rare. Harris, you have me wondering on that Wessex Brown now...

hiplainsdrifter, I think you will find that the Wessex is an admirable substitute for the JALF. I find myself smoking the Wessex as often as I do the JALF, both are in my regular rotation.

I just bought a discount array of HH Mac Barens, three flakes and two ribbon cut. I've been treated to a sample of Old Dark Fired by a Forums member, so I'll look forward to that. I think I'll start with Latakia Flake; it's mild but seems to be an interesting blend. 'Could be good.

Escudo = Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rolls?

What say you? This has been suggested a few times.

Kane, I find the Dunhill to be sweeter and less peppery than the Escudo. I also compared the size of the discs and one was noticeably bigger than the other, I forget which one was bigger, but there was a difference.
mso, I really like the ODF after a big meal, it is a very satisfying smoke.
