8 State Burley took a while to sell out. It's somewhat pricey for what it is, but not terrible when I want an aromatic codger -type blend

I stand corrected, and I was also reminded that Sancepolcro was slow to sell out as well.

I pitched the idea of a Small Batch Club to Sykes, and he explained some technical and logistic reasons that made this more complicated than I had initially thought.

Are you selling any tobacco 🤔
I am a little confused as what triggered this question. But, no I am not in the tobacco business, except as a buyer for personal consumption.

I don't think that they've ever NOT sold out of a Small Batch, but I may be wrong.
I seem to remember the last time I bought Folklore which was over a year ago it lingered on SP website for over a week with a lot of people grumbling why they should have to commit to a pound of the stuff at first go. I guess it didn't go that way this time around. I guess it lived up to the hype train enough to garner interest.

In a conversation with C&D, they told me that they will always get back a certain percentage, which could be what lingers after the initial explosion, but regardless... eventually they sell out.

I’m just posting so I can feel like a bad boy and comment on a post in the trade/sell section

You can't claim bad boy status until you've spent at least a week in the PM Gulag.

I also agree that Cosmic raises a great idea. I too have grown tired of losing out time again to scalpers who buy tobacco they never smoke so they can resell it for ripoff prices. Plus, I work second shift so I have to try and catch these releases while at work which adds even more to my chances of buying any. SP definitely need Storer figure out a way to stabilize their site during these releases at the very least if they continue down this road. I've started to just ignore these small batch releases despite liking a great many of them. I smoke a pipe to relax not to sit anxiously by a computer to play the rush to buy game against the planet. There are plenty of fantastic blends we don't have to knife fight in a telephone booth over.

I don't see many telephone booths left to have this type of dialogue in.

Lately C&D has been doing a lot of «limited edition». At first there was a lot of hype, then most likely there was a lack of the necessary amount of raw materials. And the mystery of being chosen has its effect. It's a bit of a shame that this is the attitude towards ordinary smokers.🤷🏼

Buy numerous not to smoke but to sell, shame.
If you want o buy low and sell high go to the stock market.
If you want to buy high I got numerous I’ll sell and won’t feel shameful since you are ok with it.its one thing for older discontinued tobaccos. But to get it in the mail 2 days after it sold out and scalp….. just shameful.

We strongly disagree and that’s ok.
I do not want to buy hi but someone will. A seller won’t know if they don’t ask.
That’s a free market.

Tobacco is a luxe item. As such, it’s not essential for life, and priced as the market will bear. The manufacturer pays $3 or $4 a pound for the base ingredients and sells it for as high a price as you suckers fine gentleman are willing to pay. Which is obviously too low, since apparently there are people willing to pay a lot more.

I’ve heard this childish argument many times here, about how selfish people are for selling what they bought and own. These are usually the same socialists who go on and on about “community” and other such foolishness, droning on about their entitlement to what other people have. After all, what is the effective difference between the many hoarders collectors who buy and squirrel away vast quantities of rare tobacco, and someone who buys with the intent to sell? Both beat you to the punch, neither will never smoke what they bought. But the flipper gives you the opportunity to buy what you missed out on. The hoarder doesn’t. It’s gone, out of circulation. So shouldn’t you really be pissed at the hoarder, not the flipper? It’s crazy, how little thought goes into these tirades.

Hint: You can’t win them all and nobody owes you anything. Counter-hint: There are lots of generous and kind people on this list. Make friends, don’t play the blame game, maybe something will work out for you.
