Flea Market Finds

The wife and I went to the flea market over the weekend. A man had four rough looking pipes laying on a table with a bunch of other junk,they were so dirty and oxidized I could not make out any brands at the time, I offered him $10.00 for the lot and he took it. When I got home and looked them over better I found,one was a GBD 598 jumbo which cleaned up and looks almost new. The next one was a Zittervig Copenhagen handmade, it also cleaned up nicely, a few tooth marks but a nice pipe. The third was a Old England 41 made in London,it had a bad burn place on the top of the rim,I had to sand away 1/16 inch from the top of the rim but it turned out to be really nice when I got through. The fourth is not worth the effort, 1/4" deep burn place on the rim from years of lighting in the same spot and tooth holes in the tip, and no brand I can find. 3 out of 4 ain't bad for $10.00.

Really almost any pipe for $10 isn't bad, but 3 keepers for $10 is very nice.

Sounds like some good finds! Zettervig, some cool Danish Freehands, the Old England is a Sasieni made pipe, shape 41, the Warwick.

@mithrandir: You are inserting the web address for each picture into the reply IMG box, not the image info. You can view the sticky/pictoral on posting videos & photos. (basically, you need to right click on the picture and get the info from there. On Facebook, it's best to "OPEN" the picture and then right click. Otherwise,it gives you info on all of your facebook pictures, which can take a while to scroll thru)

Seeing it. The Zettevig is very much a shape of the period, and I know from experience, the Old England is going to be a fine smoker!
