I have just ventured into the world of flakes. This morning I followed the MacBaren fold and stuff method and loaded up my pipe with Orlik Golden Sliced.
I made 2 false lights and then this sucker was rolling! I have been puffing on it a few minutes here and there for about 6 hours. One match and it's purring like a kitten again! I am really enjoying how well it stays lit.
I was fooling around watching youtube videos on flakes and realized I had done something wrong!

I think I was supposed to put the "ends" in first, like an upside down "U"! I left the ends sticking up, like a "U", and it has done perfectly!
I guess if it works it's not a mistake!
Anyone else do it this way?

When I fold a flake, which is rare, I put it in with the ends up too; and top that off with crumbs for tinder

if they're available. OGS does burn quite well either way. I think it's because its moisture is just right.

The first time I opened and attempted to smoke flake my thought was this is ridiculous... too much work when there is so many blends out there that you can just pack and go...
Fast forward and by the time I finished the tin of Irish Flake I was hooked. I'm now a huge fan of tobaccos in flake form because they tend to burn slow and cool.
I just fold and stuff, and once in awhile I'll rubout a small amount to kind of use like kindling... :puffy:
