Fixing a Blistering Pipe Finish?

I bought a small Peterson about a month ago and have only smoked it 4 times, but the finish is starting to blister. I don't typically smoke very hot, but maybe my last smoke was just too hot for it to handle. Is this just something that happens with pipes finished like this? Or did I get a defective one?

Probably had an air bubble in the lacquer.

it happens on occasion. There are theories on why but I am not informed enough to say how valid they are. Though I can say it's one of those things that comes up occasionally. You can do several things. Ignore it. Try and refinish it. Contact seller then maybe manufacture.

Seems like the pipe had some kind of flaw. You could ask the vendor if they would take it back and replace it with another one.

Looks like Peterson hired the guys that used to paint Dodges and GM’s

If it were me, and I bought that pipe retail I’d for sure be contacting retailer. I’d probably even let the manufacturer know-that’s not an acceptable occurrence in my book.
If manufacturer/retailer told me that's within their QC acceptability I’d probably spend my money accordingly going forward.
