Haha that was in the context of two grown ass men fishing. But now that you mention it, I wouldn’t want kids using one either. Getting the hook set down in various situations with various species is key!

Definitely. It's also highly valuable in the "I just want to sit around and BS with buddies over a few drinks for the day" situations. Agreed - it's cheating then. But, as with cheating for the kids, I feel like it's worth it when you can facilitate friendly discussion away from screens and technology. Something special about bullshitting around a few holes in the ice in a place where cell phones don't work.
