I like it -- very rustic; even has a nice barb that could be used as a mini tent peg.

That's nice. I buy hardwood rods from Home Depot, and saw off three inch dowels, and sand em' flat. Nothing fancy, but they get the job done. I think they're oak and come in 1/2" diameter yard long rods.

That sounds like a good inexpensive way to have a bunch kicking around in case you lose one. One for every nook, cranny, and small crawl space you can find in case of an emergency! lol :)
