First Ever Smoke from a Meerschaum Pipe

it’s straight turkish tobacco and in bulk ?

The 904s are dublins with a vertical conical chamber. Zulus have a forward canted cylindrical chamber and a tapered stem. Those meerschaums are also dublins, no forward cant to the chambers.

where did you get them from?

I trawled through IMP lists in a fair number of shops and couldn't see any of these beauties, the closest thing I saw has a 34mm deep chamber which is on the small size

love classic meerschaums. Figurals are nice but a classic meerschaum billiard is a true thing of beauty. I like briars more, especially uncoated bowl Castellos and Radices, but Meerschaums are great. Don't give up for the first several smokes as it takes some breaking in (low tide taste etc)

Hey everyone! My very first meer arrived the other day an AKB gently canted billiard. Having my first smoke (some Old gowrie) from it and I must say, it's a very different experience than that of a briar. It's so "pure". Maybe a little too pure, dare I say. The taste of briar seems to add a dimension to the tobacco smoke that I have come to really appreciate. I gotta say though, really enjoying it so far!View attachment 111484

Nice pipe! I still haven’t taken the plunge into meerschaum yet, but will one day.

Thank you embers, I've seen this one and despite being VERY VERY beautiful to my eyes, the chamber is a bit shallow. The one I'd really spend instantly to get is the last one in my post above, the one you said you got from meerschaummarket, I've sent a message but haven't gotten a reply yet.
