I just got three codger blends. SWR aromatic, Paladin Black Cherry, and Half&Half. The SWR was too dry to smoke, and the gentleman behind the counter said that Paladin flies off the shelf. So I just had my first bowl of Paladin. It's not half bad! So what are the "good" aromatics? Does anyone else enjoy Paladin black cherry as much as myself? I should mention I'm partial to English blends and haven't tried any aromatics so I didn't want to spend too much money but this was a success in my eyes.

If you like English blends, you should try Boswell's Northwoods. It's an English topped with something sweet, but it's really good.

As for straight aro blends, if you like cherry, give Cult Blood Red Moon a try.

For choco/vanilla flavor, give Lane BCA and go.

For potent vanilla, Sutliff Molto Dolce, Creme Brulee, or Vanilla Custard are heavy with it. And for subtle Vanilla, can't go wrong with Lane 1-Q or Mac Baren Vanilla Roll Cake.

If you like maple flavorings, C&D Autumn Evening is a winner.

As always, YMMV, but aside from Capt Black blends, these are some of the most popular that I enjoy when I'm in the mood for an aro.

What a thorough recommendation. Thank you kindly! I have heard of all of these in my Internet musings. Ive got plenty of English blends so I'll be looking forward to trying some of those out

I am reintroducing humidity in the SWR with some lemon peel. Has worked great for me with other tabax without imparting flavor.

Half and Half is really lovely. My goodness. What a seriously smooth smoke. These are the only readily available pipe tobaccos in my area since local tobacconists mainly carry boutique cigars. I'm excited, even as a Gawith rope fanatic. I don't see how anyone could smoke Marlboros...It's like drinking E+J brandy when Heaven Hill products are the same price and exponentially greater in quality.

That's some museum quality work. I'm curious if you have dedicated those to certain blends, moments, or places?
When he made them, they gave me Lovecraft vibes. The purple morta is primarily for Visions of Celephaïs (grape) and the red briar is for Miskatonic Mixture.
