I just received the first pipe I've ever commissioned! Simon of LCS Briars makes beautiful pipes at what I feel are reasonable prices and I've purchased two of them so far -- a bent billiard and a bent chrysalis (documented in other threads here). They are both the best smokers (and lookers) I own, and the bent billiard is my actual favorite pipe.
Bulldogs/Rhodesians are among my favorite shapes and I decided to pull the trigger and commission one. My only 'specs' were: bent Rhodesian, teal 9mm-filtered stem, and some form of adornment. This is what Simon came up with and I am absolutely delighted. The pipe is even more beautiful in person and the stem is actually darker (which to me looks better). There is also a perfectly integrated horn adornment.
