I have the older Brighams ( 15) that were made in Canada and love them

but have not tried the new ones that are made in Italy. Read on here that they have a bowl coating that is not well liked by some. I prefer the older Canadian made Brigham pipes, nostalgia on my part.

I have not encountered the draft hole problem with the Brighams that I own.

If you're used to a hand-made pipe like Caminetto, an inexpensive factory-made pipe like Brigham will probably be pretty disappointing. They're miles apart.

I have a Brigham 3 dot bent billiard from when they were still made in Canada. ( See the "Show off your _______", stream and choose the Brigham feed for a photo). It is also great pipe with a comfortable draw.

I smoked one more bowl in the pipe. It definitely doesn't draw well at all. It's true I am comparing it to a Caminetto but my other pipes which aren't quite as nice as that Caminetto smoke just fine.
I don't think the fact that it's a factory made pipe should mean it shouldn't have a decent draw and I certainly shouldn't have to tinker with it to get it to smoke well.
I'm going to follow Harris on this and get a refund. Maybe I'll just get another Savinelli. I can get one in the same price range that will smoke great. Unfortunately this will probably be my last Brigham.

I just took a look on p&c's website. Sounds like they won't take it back if its been smoked:
"All returned orders must have an return authorization number and be returned unused within 14 days in original packaging. If you do not acquire an return authorization number prior to returning, your return will be subject to a 10% re-stocking fee. Shipping charges are non- refundable. Please contact us for a return authorization number. We are not able to accept returns on smoked pipes or opened tins of tobacco."

fitzy, you can get a refund because you did not know it was defective until you smoked it. Trust me they will take it back, just contact them and tell them why they need to, if you have a hard time let me know.

We called P&C and they won't take it back because it's been smoked. I told them how am I supposed to find out that it's defective without smoking it. The rep also tried to tell me that 3 dots have a tighter draw which is bullshit as the guy who combined his order with mine so we get the free shipping got a 3 dot and that one is perfectly fine.
I have to say I love P&C's Hearth & Home line of tobacco's. I think from now on I'll stick to buying only tobacco from them and get my pipes from smokingpipes as I've never had an issue with them.

Uh... definitely not the case of the ten or so 3 dots I've had on the bench this year, nor the case with the Brigham Chinook I owned briefly.
Fitzy, have you done the math on how much you've spent at P&C over the last twelve months? Is it worth escalating the conversation to a manager and encouraging them to understand what your lost business is going to cost them?

Perhaps contacting Brigham direct might resolve the issue for you as well. They have a solid reputation for a factory made pipe and I'm sure they would like to maintain that.

Must be the name! I knew a reputable company like Brigham would replace a pipe that was obviously not right. Thanks for stepping up Brian.
