Has anyone here on the forum ever watched the TV program Firefly, or the movie that came after it, Serenity? I'm rewatching the series after a few months. And every time I watch it, the humor and excellence hit me stronger than before.

And, since I didn't see any threads relating to this...it really is an amazing program.

It is an old-west/sci-fi mash up. Horses and spacecraft, running about together!
You owe it to yourself to watch this if you enjoy humorous things. Or westerns. Or Star Trek-ish things.

Of course I have, it is one of my favorites. It was sadly cancelled too soon. It was like a "leaf on the wind".

Shiny! Absolutely one of the best TV shows and films ever made. The casting on that show was excellent. So many great scenes it's hard to pick a favorite. It's such a shame that short sighted producers and executives had to kill it off so soon. Brown coats unite!

Have any of you guys seen this? Help Nathan Fillion Buy Firefly

Apparently, Fillion stated that if he won the lottery, he would buy the rights to Firefly. Presumably to start it up again.

Which would be amazing. I would kill for another scene that makes me laugh as hard as "the chain of command," or Mal "figuring out" that Innara kissed Saffron lol!

It is only the greatest goram show in the metaverse. I believe that the show is coming back as a SciFi/SyFy production. Hopefully it doesn't get screwed up - I hope they pick up off where the show stopped and fill it in between Serenity. An entire new cast would kill it for me.

Onizuka, prepare to be disappointed. It isn't *actually* coming back, like we would all hope. It is only a re-airing of prior episodes, with some bonii, and commentary from some notable scientist on the science (or lack thereof) behind the show.

All the more reason to help Nathan Fillion buy the rights, so he can REALLY bring it back! Hopefully.

Personally not a fan of Buffy, Dr. Horrible was cute, dollhouse is...well, he got it produced, let's leave it at that. I think he's got a great sensibility with production, and an enormous sense of humor, and would love to see him doing more work. He's done an incredible variety of things already--from Toy Story to X-Men to a song for the Lion King and a bunch of comic work--so much that I can't even remember it all.
Oh, and the previous post was a quote from the show. I love that they swore in Chinese.

I finally watched this with my wife about a month ago. We had a marathon day, lol. Enjoyed every episode. I'd seen Serenity years ago, but never got a chance to see the show.
Regarding to Fillion buying the rights, my wife had seen something on Reddit as well.

It was great. If you can find the boxed DVD set, it has 3 episodes that were never aired.

It is one of my all time favorites. It ranks right up there with Star Trek, Babylon 5, and Star Wars, at least for me.

I even run a Firefly Role Play game based on the Cortex system with a bunch of my friends. It is a lot of fun. I really wish that someone, perhaps SyFy, would pick it back up and run it.
