Not sure if this should be in the other thread but that one was for progress pics. If I’ve done a stupid please correct me mods.

Anyway, here it is all finished up.

Staining didn’t go quite as planned but I dyed it black, rusticated again, and filled the blank gaps with a dark red stain and dark red on top. Subtly adds to the crispy, burnt look in any case I think.

Happy with how it turned out overall but I had some mild sanding issues with the stem and the shape is ever so slightly out. Turns out straight lines on a cylinder with only a compass and rasp is quite tricky.. bring on the day I can get a lathe..

I know a lot of other people will be saying this, but you are really gifted. Most people's second pipes I've seen look like they're made out of play-doh. Yours looks better than some I see being sold by "artisans" on Etsy and Instagram for $200 or better.

Very kind of you to say - thank you! I’m enjoying doing it. I’ve another two blocks on the go and am getting my carving chisels out for those. Been doing woodwork around a year or so and briar’s a pleasure to work with.

Hoping to have two new pipes at least shaped by Monday. Should be a good weekend! Thanks again.
