I think that is also how some pipe and cigar smokers prefer to age their stock, under their own terms and conditions instead of someone else doing it for them

Aging in my cellar is purely coincidence. The oldest have gotten that way just because I haven't gotten around to smoking them yet. Aging was never the intent but having tobacco when I could no longer afford it.

flake medallion or whatever it's called by davidoff always seems to give me a fine white ash.

So after this thread started I actually started to pay attention to my ash and tried a few different tobacco types. My granger is always grey most of my burley is the same but I did break out some BS 759 and got a fine white. My venguer actually came out looking like sand almost a tan color
