Bright & Red VAs, seem to be the worst of the bunch.
Now if you wish to smoke Bright and Red VAs, they don’t have to be dried 100% completely crispy, because no matter how you dry and smoke them, if you are sensitive, you have to go easy smoking them.
Any blend, dried very crisp can loose flavor, so you have to experiment.
1. Don’t pack to tight!
2. Barely light the tobacco, so you can just take a few puffs.
3. For number two above, in regards to those ‘puffs’, meaning slow and small sips.
4. After you take a few small sips, let the pipe go out and cool down before relighting.
Don’t ever light the tobacco in one big glowing ember, and then try to keep it lit, constantly tamping and puffing, this isn’t the way to smoke VAs when you are sensitive to the PH Balance.
I smoke VAs exactly this way too, because I’m also sensitive, but it’s the roof of my mouth that gets irritated not my tongue.
