Happy New Year! That is a magnificent pipe, and the pipe pouch is spectacular, the perfect tote for the pipe.
I've heard that Ivory Billed Woodpeckers often smoke those, although they are also thought to be extinct.

That's actually a journal that the pipe is resting on. I used it for photos with my Dublin & London too, and I like the look so much I decided to use it again for the Rosslare Royal Irish. Didn't I hear or read somewhere that an Ivory Billed Woodpecker was seen somewhere not long ago? You might find this interesting MSO. Although it is a bit blurry and inconclusive lol.

If this is for real, you may have just made Duane's entire year :D
Way to go Antny.
Thanks, Bradley!
I love these threads, whether mine or someone else's because all of the congratulations we get from everyone makes one feel like they just got a raise, or perhaps a promotions, or even won a million dollars, or perhaps won an Oscar or made it into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, or perhaps landed on the moon... or maybe captured Bigfoot!
Seriously though, I christened the pipe with a bowl of Cup O Joes Maricoxi last night, and it smoked the blend quite well. Maricoxi is a blend that I've found to be a bit of chore to keep lit from time to time because of the odd cut, some bits being just bits of of unshredded virginia leaf that seems to have just been torn up. It's a nice blend once you get it going, comprised of black cavendish and virginia flavored with cocoa, honey, and orange. That the new pipe smoked it so well, with a few relights of course, tells me it will likely smoke other blends very well. Most of my pipe's first taste of tobacco is Lane BCA. Especially my Petes which I usually designate my aromatic or crossover blend pipes. So this one's next smoke will likely be BCA or perhaps Blend For Cary Grant.

Congrats on finding that. What a beauty...the grain...the spigot fitment...the stem...and I'm just as much a sucker for the flock of birds!

That is one gorgeous Pete, congrats on finally getting it into your collection.
Thanks Harris. I would come across the Rosslare Classic (with the traditional stem fitment) numerous times. And even Rosslare Royal Irish in other shapes (there's at least two at Smokingpipes.com right now) but never the Rosslare Royal Irish in a 106. I had seen them before and when I decided I wanted one.... they disappeared and the long hunt was on

The stem and the fitment are what really make the pipe stand out and why I wanted it so much. I liked the look of the Rosslare which comes with that stem and stain. And I really like the look of the Royal Irish which comes with the stem fitment but with a black stem. Some genius at Peterson decided those two lines should merge and become a seperate line and whoever it was is my favorite person in the world right now

Sadly, it was a red herring; Duane PM'd me back indicating that the particular website never updated their sold stock and that this offering was long gone. I really wanted it to be true though.
Missed Ember's Bigfoot

Stupid Website No Update

So sorry for Duane.
