As many of you know we have spent the last year building a new house. After finally moving in a few weeks ago, I was immediately hard at work building a room full of built in drawers, shelves, and a desk etc for my personal retreat, a pipe room/library downstairs. I finally finished this project this week and thought I would show it off. The shelves and desk are self explanatory, but behind the cabinet doors in the built-ins you will also find several custom drawers I designed to hold currently jarred tobaccos for smoking (to the right of the desk, a drawer for each blend type of course) and currently cellared tobacco tins and jars (to the desks left), with a top drawer (felt lined) for storing higher end pipes.

It was a long haul only being able to work on these for an hour or so at a time, but I'm happy with how the built-ins all turned out. Cheers!

Looks like on hell of a relaxation space (not using the word M Cave deliberately), I would miss a armchair of some sorts but least you can smoke indoors.
Haha, only rarely when both wife and kiddo are gone. But I'll take it. And yes, an armchair will go there eventually (a wing back that has been in the family for years) it is just currently in service elsewhere in the house until we get a new chair to replace it there.

Very nice library, but where are the pipes and tobaccos? Are those cabinets your only storage for them?
The tobaccos are (mostly) in drawers behind the two cabinet doors as I mentioned in the OP. If you watch the video closely you'll see a wall mounted pipe rack by the garage door that has 20 or so pipes in it, there is an 8 pipe rack on top of the cabinets, probably 40 in the top drawer of the cabinets, and another 30 or so that are still boxed up and I haven't unloaded yet. Also a few scattered around on shelves, haha.

Aside from the drawers there are 3 totes (two of which can be seen on the bottom right of the bookcase by the stairs) kicking around with overflow of tobacco tins/jars.

Your pipe room is pretty great but if I had your great room with the river rock fireplace, floor to ceiling windows, custom mountain view, etc. , etc. - I might never go down to the basement.

You seem to have a very beautiful new home - enjoy it in good health.
Haha that’s why I put the pipes and tobacco down there! Otherwise I might forget we had a lower floor ?
