Ol' boy waiting on his wife in the parking lot today in my city. I thought it was @cosmicfolklore at first then realised this guy was much younger! JK !

I did ask what he was smoking...Captain Black. I guess I can expect to be buying suspenders in a few years..View attachment 84216

I like suspender myself and have a couple of pairs. Yeah, I am retired and I don't really care too much about personnel. Much more interested in keeping my britches up. As for Captain black it's kind of "meh" to me.

Guilty - suspenders are so much more comfortable than a belt. You can hang your pants on yourself up high, down low, and in the middle (too slow!) Protip: unhook them off your shoulders if you're setting down to smoke a pipe or a cigar and your pants won't creep up.

Most of a guys I know with a pipe wear bibs. I have a couple pair, there is a pocket for everything, including your cell phone. In our part of the country nobody gives them a second look.

I have been warned that once you stop wearing a belt, and there is nothing holding your belly up (you know who you are) you will gain pants size pretty quickly...

see the thing is if they smoke something else the sense of pleasure will be too much. And they'll start thinking about all the things they missed out in life. And that's just too much.

Some of the old curmudgeons, although maybe not this old curmudgeon, me, don't want to talk much about their pipe or tobacco. One old fella in the grocery parking lot all but burst into a run, while admitting he was smoking Prince Albert. Pardon me!

Good to know! I always thought some people were just being curmudgeony in general
