When I started smoking I knew I liked Vapers and English blends. Then I found a taste for Va flakes and eventually lost my taste for English blends. Now it is all about Va, Vaper and Vabur flakes with a few aromatics thrown in. I think that people's tastes change over the years as sometimes you can burn your tastes out smoking the same things over and over. I have enough variety with my current rotation so I don't get bored.

I used to smoke primarily heavy Lat's like Pirate Kake etc. Then moved to VaPer'S and VaBur's and liked them a lot. But Straight Va's are my favorite now. I will still do a Scottish like 965 or RR some evenings and even throw a bit of some left over PK or Old Iron sides in to perk it up now and then if I feel the need....Straight Burleys are next up at bat........

EDIT: I TOTALLY HATE ALL AROMATICS !!!

I grew up on a farm and started chewing tobacco at age 11. Since then I’ve been around tobacco one way or another. So I kinda “just know” what I like. But that said the pipe is a complex issue. There are many blends to enjoy and your tastes will change over time, but the heart knows what it wants. For example, coming from cigars to pipes I was convinced that I would be an English blend and Latakia lover. To a degree I am and always will be, but eventually my heart settled on Va and VaPer blends and flakes in general.
And that’s all well and good UNTIL you start to cellar tobacco and invest real money in your future would-be smokes. Choose wrong or buy only because others love a blend is tricky. When spending time, money, and effort searching out your stock, follow your heart and be wise.
