I still like trying new and different blends and like aros on occasion but I am finding myself gravitating to Virginia blends and am finding I like the ribbon cut best. How about you guys what is your go to type and cut and if you have a favorite what is it?

That's part of the fun, figuring out your tastes. Be careful though -- I wouldn't stock up on too much of one thing. About the time I think I've figured out my tastes, they change. So far, it's been like this (roughly in order):
VAs

VAPERs

Mild English Blends

VAPERs

VAs

Balkan Blends

Medium English Blends

VAs

VAPERs

English/Oriental Blends

Right now, I seem to be in another transition phase -- smoking a little bit of everything.
The real point of my thread is that my tastes fluctuate, and I'll get tired or bored if I smoke the same type of blends all the time. I know some smokers like me, and I know some that are the complete opposite -- they get settled on something and stick with that forever.

I'm still finding out what I like best, too. I'll be happy if that process continues as long as I am a smoker.
I like 1Q and am still trying other aromatics. I like all the Seattle Pipe Club blends for the English blends. I still have lots to try!

I'm eclectic these days. Being so new to real tobacco I'm in the "kid in a candy shop" phase. I want to try everything, eventually.
I am very fond of English/Balkan blends and likely will remain so, but variations on the theme of Virginia based flake, also get my attention. Reading reviews, here and elsewhere, is proving bad for my budgetary health. :puffy:
There is an ever growing list of things to "try next". My dance card is booked for a year, already. I seem to have contracted that TAD thing people keep complaining about. Or at least their wives are complaining about.
TAD/PAD and marriage bring out one's most devious side, I fear. "No dear, this is just a sample given to me by a friend." Says he, whilst hiding the receipt and being ever so thankful he paid cash, leaving no record of the purchases.

I like all sorts, but like aromatics a lot at the moments. I also like English Blends as a balance, but am out of that at the moment. So, I am smoking Grousemoor which has really grown on me. I like to keep a little note book with what's in each blend and so I can judge what I'll probably like in new blends based on what is in them.
Happy Hunting for your "perfect blend" (if there is such a thing)

I predominantly smoke latakia blends, although I enjoy both Virginia and burley blends. McCranie's Red Ribbon is a fave, but I don't really have a fave cut.

I have become a big fan of Presbyterian Mix and C&D Autumn Evening guess that makes them my "go to blends" :puffy:

I'm gonnna have to chalk another one up to Virginias and Va/Pers. They just hit the spot. The flavor profiles and aromas are what i'm looking for. However, i've recently been digging some Carter Hall. Which is more on the Burley side, if i'm not mistaken.
Anything that's medium-heavy on the Latakia and Orientals I like in small doses. Usually about half way down the bowl I just get the feeling of "i'm done with this". Not really in a bad way, just done with it.
