I could care less what my whole body PH is (unless I have some sort of medical reason for this)
actually we have to take care of the pH level of our body, your blood is slightly alkaline (more than 7 in pH scale) once it goes acidic (taking account the soft drinks, fast food, etc we have all the time unless you eat and drink healthy) it is very hard to go back.
but to me if you mix acids and bases in your mouth, it is like mixing baking soda and vinegar = tongue bite. Sizzle, sizzle...
cannot agree with you MORE mate. that is what I don't understand.
But, also keep in mind that the PH differences in Burleys and Virginias are very small. It's not like we are talking extremes, just "taste-able" differences.
right, there might me some differences in the levels of sugar, nicotine, etc. I think it is those toppings/seasonings making tobacco more acidic or basic.

I refresh and soothe my palate two or three times daily with Biotene. It's worked for me, particularly if I smoke a latakia-heavy blend prior to going to bed and want to avoid that blanket tongue in the morning.

Tea is really nice, but not too sweat. Also Orlik GS goes well with a beer. Burley with a nice coffee or a hot cup of cocoa.
