Dumbledore (stop trying to hide pipes from our kids!)
Captain Barbosa
Hannibal Lecter
Dont know if any of you guys are familiar with Ian Irvine's "View From The Mirror" quartet, but damn near half the characters in those books shouldhave smoked a pipe.
Colonel Potter from MASH.
"I think Pipe smokers are people who generally sit back watch, listen, then jump up and put people in place with a pipe in one hand and a hot or alcoholic beverage in another"
AMEN Brother!
Captain Leland Stottlemeyer from Monk played by Ted Levine.
A pipe hanging from his jaw while brooding over a crime scene would seem perfectly normal. Dr. Daniel J. Pierce from Perception played by Eric McCormack.
He's a professor who solves crimes for the FBI. A pipe would fit.
BBC's Sherlock Holmes. What kind of a Sherlock Holmes doesn't smoke pipe but uses nicotine patches in stead? Sacrilegious I realize they're trying to interpret Holmes in a new way, but I think a little bit of addiction gives him a human face.
+1 to the new Holmes. Nicotine patches? Really? WTF. I won't even watch the show for that one reason alone. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is rolling in his grave.
Yeah, I know. I agree with you fadingdaylight. The show is very popular though. It's a very well made series, except for the fact that Holmes doesn't smoke.
What, no votes for Frasier Crane? Pipes are so good for gesturing, while pondering which he often did. And as an added benefit it would drive his brother Miles crazy too.
