I just talked to Les. He said if you can provide me with your mailing address he will send you out a new pipe. He is a great guy and stands by his products. He looked at the pics in this thread and said no problem. Please contact me by pm and I will forward the info to Les. Also need to know if it is a 9mm filter version or not and I am assuming by the pics it is a bent bulldog. We can talk about all this by pm and all will be settled.

Thanks to all of you for helping me out! It weren't my intentions at all to discredit anyone, this pipe and the previous savinelli mentioned in this topic were given to me by my wife (we just got married in college), I am a new pipesmoker and I just don't want to ruin these beautiful pipes. That is the reason why I asked for your advice, because for all it's worth it might be nothing. The reason why I didn't contact the retailer straight away was because it was the very last pipe and it would make me really sad if I had to sent it back for a refund as I absolutely love the pipe. So again, my sincere apologies if I discredited or offended anyone, these weren't my intentions at all.
Thank you all again for the help and for solving this issue, I would have been helpless without you guys.

Wow. You guys are fast. I was going to make a comment about that being a sandpit, and the source for probable future damage concerns, and how most vendors would replace a pipe for something like that ... but you done took care of it already. :clap:

News from Les. He is starting on the pipe Monday. Just waiting on the address and once the pipe is finished he will ship it out.

The pipe was indeed purchased from Danpipe in Germany. Perhaps it got through inspection as I only saw it after half an hour of staring at my pipe.

Here is the new pipe headed out the the lucky recipient. He will now have two pipes. Les said he should not have any issues if he smokes the old one, but he does not compromise by his name or his pipes.

I think, if it was me, I'd send the first pipe back to them. It would be an equally nice gesture and Les could smoke it if he wanted to.

Les only smokes cigars anymore while relaxing and having a beverage, and Dolly doesn't smoke.

Today I have received my new pipe, mr.Wood even added a small note apologizing for the small flaw in the original pipe I've purchased. I can tell he truly wants to deliver a good product and make his customers happy. I take off my hat for all of you who have helped me but especially so for Tarheel1 who made this possible and especially Les Wood for taking his time crafting a beautiful pipe so I am sure of a wonderful smoking experience. I've smoked it for the first time and it smokes like a dream, very sweet and dry!
