Just getting started and getting things set up, it's easier when you live alone - (though only one of my three ex's lives in Texas). So I can just sit in my easy chair and light up a pipe or cigar and kick back. Something appropriate housing them in the old store cabinet - love the old glass, brass fittings, and tin lining (bonus that my uncle found it and restored it). Appreciate the wealth of information this site and the people on it provide. I would be doing more stubbling around than I am and have done. As it is I am very happy with many of the choices I have made due to what I have learned here. Many thanks.

After looking at the pictures again...I really like the two sliding glass doors on the lower right. What is on the lower left, opposite the sliding doors?
The lower left has a hinged door with glass dividers that were used to hold flat stacked packs of cigarettes, the glass is original and one of the eleven glass dividers was lost or broken, (I've debated replacing it). The door fits flush but swings open to reveal a closed tin lined storage compartment behind it. It was from a long closed business in Pontiac Illinois, my Uncle found it, bought it, and then took it apart, stripped it, and refinished it. After he died my father bought it at the estate sale, then after my parents passed I inherited it (nobody else in the family wanted it as it was too big they said). So I cleared out a room and moved it to my house.

Yeah, that's a beauty. I'm looking forward to getting my collection that organized. Unfortunately, there seems to be a Ball jar shortage around these parts, so I'm biding my time, making do with a zip lock bag/Boveda packet combo system for now. Not ideal, I know, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna order glass jars online. The packing methods (or lack thereof) these companies use these days is asinine. I can't even order a book these days without it showing up like a New York City cab driver sat on it for six months (sans the smell of such a scenario, blessedly).

Me too. I lucked out and scored a $3-400 crate and barrel cabinet for $25! So I moved all my pipes to that and bottom holds 75 or so tins easily plus another 3 racks of pipes. I spent 2 straight days buffing and waxing most of my pipes this week. Felt great. I need another rack or two and a block or something to put under it so i can use the depth of the cabinet. Sort of make a 3 tier rack on the top shelf.

That's a lovely set up there. Hope to have one of my own soon in the next year or so. Planning a move first before getting anything else heavy.
