I think you'd be hard pressed to find doctors who who didn't agree that vaping is less harmful than smoking, or that controlling what flavour's there are has reduced the consumption. I think alot of the harmful effects you could link to the modding of vapes to this stupid cloud chasing phenomenon. Just because people have decided that big clouds are cool and had nothing to do with thr original intention, a less harmful means of nicotine delivery that satisfies the need for smoke at the same time, doesn't mean everyone should be punished. It's a slippery slope and you can cope all you want, but smoking tobacco in any form is not good for you. Sure the stress it relieves may be the better of the 2, but it's not a healthy vice
Just my two cents from my experience and also I’m going on a tangent here, but I feel like Juul is not much better than cigarettes. You’re inhaling toxicants into your lungs regardless and when I was addicted to Juul I was constantly vaping all day where with ciggies I was a pack a week smoker. I still would have shortness of breath and other issues when vaping. Glad I quit that garbage and am just into the pipes and cigars hobby where I don’t feel dependent on nicotine anymore and not inhaling (excluding the obvious second hand smoke). Also not smoking a lot in general anymore, which is better than a daily habit. I 100% agree that there is no safe consumption of tobacco, or any drug for that matter, in case it sounds like I’m trying minimize pipe smoking risks.

Another bone I have to pick with the vaping industry is that it’s so much plastic waste. At least Juul isn’t a disposable device and the pods are a small amount of plastic waste, but when you go through 8 pods a week all that plastic adds up.

By and large, they provide the jobs most of us need. Simple really, successful folk drive the economy. Even moderately successful folk buy, houses, cars, pay various taxes, and such. Shareholders, rich, poor and various funds, retirement funds to name but one that effects may of us... provide jobs.

Of course, hard work, education, and such is entirely our choice. So, while vision and imagination are important components for success, it's one's willingness to strive and improve. Each of us can either bemoan our fate or... improve our chances for success through hard work, making ourselves valuable to others. Choices have consequences. It's all a matter of choices we make through life. Easily satisfied or driven to improve one's lot in life. Choice! Our station in life is simply the result of our up bringing and, as adults, choices made.

Yesterday coming back from St Louis on I-70 we crossed the I-70 Missouri River Blanchette Memorial Bridge.

A few miles West I saw a couple of Highway Patrol on the East side on entrance ramps and said Dear you might decide to slow down to below 90 or something where I could bail you out, and we saw another couple of cop cars on the other side at entrance ramps and bye and bye here comes a kid (I presume) in a little foreign car running maybe 140 miles an hour with two more Troopers after him, a quarter mile behind him. Then we counted eight more—eight—-MSHP cruisers running full blast after him, in the next five minutes. 14 total cops versus one kid.

I’m older than I-70.

I’m older than DOT tire ratings.

Our tires

IMG_2104.jpeg

A tire with an "114H" speed rating means the tire has a speed rating of H, which corresponds to a maximum speed of 130 mph (210 kph), and the "114" is a load index indicating a maximum load capacity of 2601 lbs or 1180 kg per tire.

—-

My wife and I both were rooting for that kid to get away, but the 14 cops we saw were gaining on him, and the odds are he’s in jail right now in St Louis.

And 15 mothers didn’t start crying because a tire blew out or a bad road design killed her precious little boy, that she once rocked to sleep.

We live, in the greatest, the freest, the most mobile, the damnedest best civilization the sun ever shone on. Those old Romans, never got close to us.

Every life, is precious here, even the prisoner in the deepest dungeon.

Our government should only do for the people what they cannot, should not, or will not do for ourselves.

But we are all beneficiaries of two and a half centuries of the rule of law.

And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.

It's great to know some people enjoy starting businesses, doing the work required or, there wouldn't be any stocks to buy and sell. And, one doesn't buy and sell real estate without the right people doing the due diligence necessary.

People risking their moneys to increase their moneys are folks I readily admire, as a group.

The vapes never have helped me get off.

I've gone on a non-smoking trip a couple times and took Juuls or Vuse. They never really scratched any itch.

They're owned by big tobacco too... And much cheaper to make.

"Big Tobacco" doesn't even want to save Tobacco.

Those vapes are sometimes, or always, made from potatoes.

. . . but, advise me of a better system in existence anywhere.
Depends on who you ask, and where, I suppose. What is your criteria or definition of a ‘better system’? Not for me to say, but for starters some others might say Switzerland, Denmark, New Zealand, Finland, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, Australia, and the United Kingdom. I don’t know that I would agree, but it depends on the definition, no?

Not a fan of socialism in any shape or form, even in it's West European style. Too much government control on speech, social behavior and, commerce in my opinion. Millions of folk are comfortable with that however. "Social engineering" by fiat is something I can't abide. But, I have to admit, the US voters seem to be happy exchanging their rights for government servitude. Thankfully, at my age, I won't live to see the transition.

I'm only stating a personal observation. But, forty years ago, after two large European wars, the idea of western Europe countries ceding power/control to the Germans... simply unbelievable. But, collectivism is insidious and attractive to the masses I suppose.

As this is purely a personal observation it certainly isn't open to argument. bdw

Hardly a smoker😉

I’ll agree the waste of disposable pods and disposable vapes (with their battery components) is a problem. If people didn’t litter as they do it wouldn’t be, but it is.
Yup! I was not a heavy cigarette smoker by any means. But definitely became a vape fiend when I switched. They are just way too convenient.
