Favourite Drink Pairing?

I am wondering what everyone's favoured drink pairing with their pipe smoking. I find that I prefer more neutral drinks so I taste the tobacco more. I often find wine, my preferred alcoholic drink, to conflict with the tobacco. I imagine tea works well, but I don't really drink tea. And I basically only drink espresso, rather than drip, now that I have a decent machine, and it is too strongly flavoured.

I guess there are two questions here. In general, what is your favoured drink with tobacco? And if you have an specific pairings with particular blends, what are they? (I know everyone's preferences are different, so no need to talk about that. Hearing the responses might provide a good sense of who has similar palettes.)

I do like scotch with englishes. In Canada, bourbon and scotch are basically the same price.

1. I often have a morning pipe and my morning coffee together
2. Friday night I drink a lot of whisky and whiskey with my pipes
3. Most other times I drink nothing at all
4. Occasionally if I am thirsty will have water

In the morning, coffee. In the afternoon, coffee or tea. In the evening, tea or a variety of alcoholic beverages including, but not limited to: beer, brandy, scotch, vodka tonic, wine etc. It all depends on the time of year, the company, and how much or little food is in my stomach.

I promise you it’s much more terrifying to a southern guy. It ought not be necessary. There’s sweet tea, and then there’s brown piss water.
