Variety is the spice of life!
I really love my Billiards, especially my Canadian as that was what I thought pipes were supposed to look like. I hated Bulldogs until I bought three of them, of which my favorite is a Peterson Sterling Silver 80s Then I got a Bent Dublín and hey, I love that shape too. Somebody sent me a briar Calabash shape pipe, and wow, I love it too. Then recently I found some unusual shaped Chacom pipes that I just had to have. I've made my point.
To me pipes are kind of like women, I love all kinds of sizes, shapes and colors.

That is one sweet collection of long shanked briars!

Bulldogs and stacked dublins.

I love the interpretations of these shapes more than the traditional purist forms of these. The further the designer or artist pushed one of these shapes into almost becoming some other shape the better. Bullies, Rhodesians, bullcaps, dublin/candians, plateaus, freehands, etc... the feel of the pipe in clench or hand is almost more important than look. And, as long as it has holes in the right places, I'll figure out how it wants to be smoked. :puffy:

I like the classics. Pots, Rhodesians, authors, billiards, etc. I probably feel more strongly about shapes I don't like, but I won't drag this thread down with negativity. :puffy:

I started off preferring bent billiards, but at this point I'd have to go with the Author shape - something about those big, round bowls just appeals to me. Apples are a close second, and there are a couple of Princes that almost cross the line for me.

Billiards and brandies although, lately, I seem to be developing an unhealthy obsession with the smaller Italian apples.

Can't believe there is no love for the Zulu shape. I like Dublin as well, just think the Zulu is a more aesthetic variant of the Dublin.

I can tell you this, I generally do NOT like volcano pipes. After that, I have a fairly eclectic collection, but am always drawn towards short to medium length stubby pipes.

Well Jackswilling, I really like many Zulus but I only have one. My usual smoke is in a billiard.
