I think I have it narrowed down to either the Irish Whiskey, which I currently have in my possesion, or I might wait until I get the Irish Oak and try that one. Both sound pretty damn good, but as long as it takes me to smoke a tin, Ill probably wait to try the University Flake and the 3P until the weather gets warmer. In any case, I will let everyone know what I think when I get around to trying them, but thanks to everyone for all the input. Very much appreciated.

Jud, I'll be responsible for the shortages of Old Dublin, as I usually order one to two tins every month. Old Dublin is by far my favorite smoke. To anyone who is getting into the Peterson blends, Old Dublin is a must have. Sherlock Holmes is pretty good, as is Hyde Park. The rest that I've tried don't do much for me.

I know alot of people seem to vehemently disagree with me, but I loved the heck out of the tin of Sherlock Holmes I had.

the only Peterson's i have smoked are Sherlock Holmes, Luxury Blend and Sweet Kilarney.

The Sweet Kilarney was many years ago and i vaguely remember liking it. I found the empty 100g tin recently and the tin note was amazing so i must've liked it enough to finish it!
I like the Luxury blend a bit but nothing to write home about. I don't like the Sherlock Holmes much but have been trying to understand it.

3Ps is calling out to me but I am afraid to pull the trigger.
I haven't found too many fruity tobaccos that I've enjoyed.
The same thing goes for University Flake, but I am less interested in that because it is not a plug.

So I caved and popped my tin of Irish Whiskey. Smell in the tin was nice, whiskey essence was very light, almost non existent. The tobacco is that nice very fine ribbon cut that I love. Didnt leave the tin open but measured out a bowl and dried it for about 10 minutes. It has that decidedly "Danish" taste to it, and anyone who hasn't smoked a danish aromatic probably wont know what Im talking about but its hard to put my finger on. I think the bowl of Escudo I had before it wrecked my taste buds and I think my tongue is a little raw, so Im going to take a little break before I smoke another bowl full of it to form a true opinion, but so far it has promise.

I have a tin open right now. I need to procure some more. I did age one tin for 5 years before I smoked it, and liked that a lot.

I fell big time for the Sherlock Holmes. After a few weeks the 4 pipes I had been smoking it in all tasted foul. The same for their other aromatics. Haven't yet gotten around to cleaning them out with gin and reaming them. Even with that it will take a while for them to taste normal.

I have several different tins that I have yet to open including Old Dublin and University Flake.
I LOVE Irish Flake though. The only blend in recent history that almost made me turn green from the nic rush. Never ever consider smoking that stuff on an empty stomach

This might be no help whatsoever, since the blend is no longer made, but the only Peterson blend (and, actually, it may have been a Petersen blend) I've enjoyed -- since I don't care much for aromatics -- is Caledonian Curly-Cut Melange #410. It's a curly-cut Virginia/perique blend with a marvelous flavor and aroma. I first smoked it in the mid-1980s when it was still being produced; 20 years later I found a tin on eBay that tasted exactly as I remembered it. If you're inclined to enjoy VaPers, I can't recommend this one highly enough.

Connoisseurs Choice and Sweet Killarney are my favorite Peterson Blends. Connoisseurs Choice is my go to areo. It has flavor and a good room note.
