peck, does Salty Dogs have any red virginia in it and if so how much. Is it going to bite my tongue off or will I be safe from the evil that is red virginia?
I really don't know. The plug is as black as the Ace of Spades, if that helps, but I really don't know what types of Va it contains.

Dunhill Baby's Bottom. Buy it, love it. You're welcome.

Bothy Flake (thanks to Scrooge)

Black House. I know it's a legend, but I just got around to trying it this year, and it's as good as they say it is.

Cornell & Diehl's 5 O'clock Shadow was a first for me in 2015. I won a tin in the Cartoon Contest back in July and have recently ordered an 8oz tin. It's a great Va/Per that I can smoke all day without getting tired of it.

peck, that is such a lame answer. For someone of your tobacco prowess not to be able to detect red virgina in a blend is blasphemy. I here bye revoke your status as tobacco God fortwith.
Can anyone taste or feel any red virginia in the Salty's Dog?

SG Best Brown Flake is the blend I discovered that I absolutely loved in 2015. :puffy:

Tabac-Manil Semois, either cut. I received one of each for Christmas. Other favorites, Old Dark Fired and Latakia Flake.

I don't have the time, or the crayons, to explain this to you again. I don't share the same sensitivity to red virginia -- frankly, I think it's all in your fucking head, but I don't want to come across as insulting -- and I can't really distinguish between types of virginia.

I have tried so many new blends in 2015 that I can think of a number of great blends. The winner for me would have to be Skiff Mixture.

I wish it was all in my head that way I could smoke Hal O the Wynd and Haddo's Delight and tons of other red virginia's, and you couldn't insult me on your best day. How does a guy with 2000 pounds of tobacco not be able to detect something as simple as the taste of red virginia it is so distinguable in any blend. Maybe you should stop licking your dogs ass and get your taste buds back, not to be insulting or anything.

I stopped licking the dog's ass years ago when I swore off lakelands blends. Of course, then I was doing it to kill the taste of the tobacco.

2015 will be marked as the year that I began my foray into whole-leaf tobacco.

In 2015, I was graciously introduced by a fellow member to Motzek Strang which became me all time favorite new tobacco and standout for my all time fav tobacco, at which point it's maker promptly, may or may not have, retired. So thanks for that ;)

Tough choice, dogs ass or Lakeland blends. I'd take the dogs ass also.
cobguy, looks like some really nice cigars and pipe tobacco you are making. Your dog has no taste, he licks his ass all the time.

I can't distinguish different Virginias either. If I taste hay or citrus, I know they are there, but can't tell one from another.

The stand out for me last year was 4 Noggins, Bald Headed Teacher. There was just something about it that pressed all the right buttons for me. I just ordered another pound of it to add to the cellar.
