Favorite Homemade blends/combos/experiments

I'm sure this topic has come up on other threads, but I couldn't find it in my fifteen seconds of searching, so I figured I'd start a new one. I have some Fox & Hound from Altadis and some PA, both of which I didn't care for on their own. However, I mixed equal parts (about) of them both and they seemed to balance each other out, and it was actually quite good. So, I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences or just some really good homemade blends come about.

I've been smoking the crap out of Balkan blends lately, and have also had a pouch of Captain Black White sitting for four months. I decided to load up a bowl of Captain Black White, and the ghost flavor from all the Balkan blends made me able to enjoy Captain Black White again. It was sitting for four months because I wasn't to fond of it's low flavor. But hey, now I love it!

I found that of I layered Lane 1-Q and CAO Cherry Bomb in about 4 layers in a bowl, I got the flavor of chocolate cake!

i mix tobacs together often. one i like is carter hall mixed with half&half. i do others as well.

I have one I call a "pipe bomb"..... 1 part Tambolaka, 2 parts 5 Brothers, 1 part Brown Irish X rope. I don't smoke it very often though.

Not sure what to call it but I enjoyed it. I mixed 1/2 MB Honey & Choc and 1/2 MB Cherry Ambrosia and let it sit for a week. The tin note was amazing, like a rich chocolate cake. Much better the two individually smelled.
The taste to me made both much more tolerable and I will do this again with different amounts of each. The MB Honey & Choc previously almost knocked me out with the Nic but I didn't get any of that when I did this.

I've had good luck with two 5100-based home blends.
The first one is very simple, yet tasty. Mix 5100 and 2015 half and half. Let them marry in a glass jar (placed in a sunny window if possible) for about a week. I like this and smoke a lot of it.
The second blend is also very simple. Mix 5100, 5105 (the stoved black Virginia), and Prince Albert. I am smoking this now and really enjoy it. It's also good with about 5% Perique.

Pinch of Kendalls' Kentucky, pinch of 5 Bro's, pinch of Dark Birdseye and 2 pinches of 1792 Flake(then hang on)

50/50 mix of Stonehaven and MacBarrens' Mixture Scottish Blend

50/50 mix of Carter Hall and MacBarrens' 7 Seas Royal

1/4 Kendals' Kentucky, 1/4 Northwoods, 2/4 Penzance

As with my coffee and liquor, I leave the mixing to the experts and don't stray from there path. I smoke a blend straight. Not that I have anything against it, just not for me

a fav bulk blend of mine is 3cups of Prince Albert & 1cup of Smokers Pride Black Cav. My all day smoke.

Inspired by this thread, I just made a 50/50 mix of SG/ FVF and MVF. As a 1st impression, I think it is better than either one alone. ::

Used to smoke a blend someone from Yahoo Pipesmokers 2 came up with. 4 parts Dunhill 965 to 1 Dunhill Nightcap. Her name is Gae, so it is known as Gae's 421. I can actually smoke 965 that way.

I mixed Pine Grove and Paladin Black Cherry 50/50 last night, among many samples from johnnyxpipe that I really liked. They don't go so well together!

PA/SWR/1Q! First two in equil proportions and 1Q to round it off. I also soak an inch square of paper towel in rum and let it set for a while in a jar.

I keep everything in Mason jars. I recently have had several that were all close to empty. So I have thrown a couple together and smoked them. My wife told me I found her knew favorite, she loves the smell and I have to say the taste is pretty good too. Altadis Choco Truffle Mixed with Altadis Strawberries & Cream.
