I have over 1 kg of GH Best Brown #2 on hand, one kg of GH Ennerdale Flake .... so I suppose I like them well enough. Also, having the luxury of being about a half hour drive from SPC, I've been exploring other GH blends as well: Scotch Flake, Bob's Chocolate Flake, Black Irish X, Brown Bogie ..... I found out, however, that Bright CR Flake and Glengarry do not agree with my chemistry ....
Gawith & Hoggarth is one of my favorite blending houses. I love the earthy taste of the African and Indian tobaccos they use for many of their flakes and all of them light and burn easily.
Best Brown #2 is one of my top 2 or 3 Va flakes. Sweet, earthy and tangy.
I always have Ennerdale on hand -- sweet, soft and yummy. Nothing else like it.
Kendal Flake is about as "Lakeland" as you can get, with great, tangy tobaccos to go along with all the scents and perfume.
Brown Flake U/S is another great flake (Va/Burley) that doesn't get a great deal of attention. It has a really nice "chocolate brownie" flavor to it that I crave from time to time.
Glengarry Flake is a sweet, bright flake with a very light, sweet topping that just adds a little "something" to the smoke. Unlike other bright flakes, I've never had it turn harsh or ashy.
Louisiana Flake is the one GH tobacco I haven't liked all that much. After a couple of months open, it's OK as a VaPer, but when fresh it has this weird smell that's like a cross between chocolate and a veterinarian's office.

I like Brown Flake Unscented, Brown Happy Bogey, and both the Maple & Rum Twists. Black Irish-X is OK too.
The twists are good for a kick in the pants, but they're pretty blah and cigar-like if you're nae in the mood.
Some of the lightly Lakeland-scented blends (La. Perique Flake) are just barely tolerable, but hardly preferred.

+1 here for Ennerdale. It was my first foray into flake tobacco and it opened my eyes to how yummy tobacco can taste. So I still keep a tin of it always handy.
Glengarry and Louisiana Flake are tops IMO. I also enjoy Bob's Choc. Flake and Rum Flake as well. I suppose I could go on to say that Ennerdale is always a special smoke too. These limited production, high quality, exceptional old world tobaccos made by G&H and Samuel Gawith stand the test of time as you look at the history of both companies.

The scented G&H blends are both cased and topped with a lakeland scent. The unscented blends are just cased with a mild lakeland, but not topped with the heavier lakeland scent. My favorite is sliced brown twist. It is a rope which has been sliced saving a lot of work with the cigar cutter.
I'd be interested to hear nachman's sources on this, but this seems entirely plausible to me the more I think about, especially after reading about the extensive ingredients listed for very "natural" tobaccos like Dunhill Navy Rolls and the old Three Nuns (to say nothing of highly flavored blends like St. Bruno). If Dunhill DNR includes things like plum juice and anise flavor, then it seems likely that Best Brown #2 might include a little musk, rose or heliotrope.
I'm smoking some BB#2 right now and nachman's claim accords with what I am tasting - or what I think I am tasting.
I enjoy Ennerdale Flake. It smells like a church picnic and it's the one blend my wife would really rather I hadn't found but I love it. Not every day, and not enough to dedicate a briar to it (corncob only), but it's quality leaf prepared in an interesting way. I think the Lakeland essence is a nice diversion from my usual rotation.

It has been so many years ago that I can't remember where I heard this, but I considered it a reliable source or I would have promptly forgotten it. At my age it is hard to remember what I had for breakfast.
