I do smoke mostly what are now known as “codger/drug store/OTC” blends. My top three are Bond Street or Burban Street (some say they are the same, others say not), Sugar Barrel, and Holiday. They and a handful of similar blends comprise about a fifth to a quarter of my smoking rotation. The rest is various cherry blends.

If you don’t like sweet aromatics, Edgeworth Ready Rubbed is a super nice all-day burley and would be considered a codger blend by any standard.

To me, the codger blends still do what they were designed to do: They are flavorful easy smoking mixtures that don’t need a lot of attention and enhance just about any situation where a pipe is allowed. What’s great is that there are so many bulk match blends available you can order a bunch of one ounce samples and test, review and compare to your heart’s content.

Got a gift from a Swedish friend: Hamiltons Blandning. their codger blend and really like it. A smooth rather non aromatic burley base blend. Bit strong on nic and a unique light aroma in the background. Dryinsh and semi uncased to me.

Half & Half, SWRA and 1-Q.
I kept these in my shop when I was woodworking, they were my "thinkin' tobacco".
One has to pause from time to time to stare at the work and cogitate what to do next. These were my go-to's for such occasions.
I haven't smoked them much since then.
