If I were to buy a new cob right now, I think I'd lean towards the Wizard Cob and the General to go with my Legend. Taller bowls and the Wiz is a churchwarden.

The General is a recent addition to my collection and I like it a lot,

But the Diplomat 5th Avenue is the old standby that I use most often.
And I use bent bits in straight pipes cause I just got to be different.

On some of my straight Legends, I have used the hot water stem bending technique to turn them into a "hillbilly prince" shape.

Mine is Country Gentleman. Love the size, shape, grip, etc.
My favorite cobs are the Dagner MM collaboration Poker. I own 6 of them.
Wow, do they smoke that good? I was thinking about buying one. Now I should definitely get one.

Missouri Meerschaum is the only corn cob pipe period . Like the Legends. Got 3-4. One from 1980. It still smokes good. ;-)

Until recently I didn't know there were 2 versions of the MM Legend or 3 versions of the Washington. And now I see there are 2 versions of the Great Dane.
BTW, I never see any love for the Patriot. I admit I don't have one either, but some of you must have one. What do you think about it?

I like all my cobs. I've enhanced several MM cobs with Forever acrylic stems. I especially like the natural freehand, because of its texture, the large bowl, and the vulcanite (or sometimes acrylic) stem. I also very much like Old Dominion cobs with the bamboo shank/stems, the real historical item; I have a small Chesapeake and a still-small but larger Laughing King. I do not consider cobs throw-aways. They last a long, long time, and I think of them in the same way I do my briars. I've given away a few pipes, but I've never thrown any away.

I've been growing very fond of my 2 Missouri Prides and I'm smoking them more and more often. I also picked up an unsmoked MM cob at an antique shop not long ago. I'm not certain which model it is. It took a bit of smoking to get that antique store musty taste out of it, but it's s great pipe now.
They've still got the original stems. I can throw in replacement stems with an online order for 89 cents when the time comes.
As far as binning pipes my total is briars 2 cobs 0. :puffy:

I've owned many different styles, all mm.
I don't know that I could have picked a favorite until the Mark Twain came out. Got two straights and two bents, and they are hands down the best bowl for me.
Make a nice bowl bottom with pipe mud before you smoke them and they should last you many years of great smokes.
