I forgot about these... when my wife insists on playing Christmas music in the house, there are 3 albums I don't totally despise...

She & Him
Seth MacFarlane
Elvis
As a huge fan of Family Guy I am surprised I was not aware that Seth had music released. I just downloaded a bunch of his albums. Pretty interesting. Big band type music which reminds my wife of Mel Torme her dad used to jam to.

The original Daddy’s Drinking Up Our Christmas (In That Bar Across The Street) is on everybody’s top ten most hillbilly high nasal hard country songs of all time list, if not the most country song ever, and no doubt has saved many men from a life of drunken ruin in the honky tonk bars of Skid Row.

There was a later, humorous and not serious song of the same title.

But this song has done it’s little part in making our world a better place for the children since 1966.

Everything on this album, my favorite. We saw Ronnie before she passed. In a small college theater, she was talking about her sister, who has just passed, and was overcome. In the silent hall, a couple of rows from, the front, I shouted "we love you Ronnie". She got herself together and said "I love you too baby". For about a week afterwards, if someone asked me how I was doing, I said "pretty damn good, Ronnie Spector said she loves me". My wife just rolled her eyes. My wife is decorating tonight, and a song from this album came up. As it started, she said "Yes, I know, Ronnie said she loved you, shut up and hand me that Santa Claus".

Darlene Love also did a lot of the heavy lifting on this album. I've still yet to see her.
