Christmas in Connecticut (1945, Barbara Stanwyck and pipe smoker Dennis Morgan)

The Nativity Story (2006, Oscar Isaac and Keisha Castle-Hughes)

The Shop around the Corner (1940, Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullavan)

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992, Kermit the Frog and some newcomer named Michael Caine)

Bachelor Mother (1938, Ginger Rogers and David Niven, I know, I know, technically a New Year's movie, but it fits in the 12 Days of Christmas)

OMFG - I get not thinking of Christmas In Connecticut, for example, in the moment of typing my list (and we love it, always have, though I always thought the baby looked a little odd, frankly) but forgetting the original Miracle On 34th Street was unforgivable! I will not tell my daughters I committed that mistake. Edmund Gwenn was so good in so many movies.

Sorry, Tom. Ed Asner played Santa and Bob Newhart played papa Elf. Easy mistake if you've only seen it once. ;)
My kids wanted it on DVD when it came out, so on the way home from a 2 hour trip north to a mall before Xmas to do some Xmas shopping which included getting them a copy they watched it on the way home on the DVD player they could see in the back seats. I didn't know anything about it and couldn't see it, but the minute I heard Bob Newhart's voice, I was in, and the minute I heard Jimmy Caan's voice, I was sold! I listened intently, then watched when I got home, lol.
